A Little About Antonio Banks, Ed.D.

Dr. Banks is a Watts, California native who brings over ten years of experience in student affairs/services and educational research at four-year institutions, two-year institutions, and Non-Profit organizations. His experiences range from working as a Research Assistant, Resident Director, Program Director, Analyst for Educational Research Centers, and more recently as Regional Coordinator and Statewide Student Charter Coordinator. His most salient passions regarding his work experience have come by way of working with students of color, and more explicitly, aiding in the holistic success of Black students, and to an even greater degree, Black men. Before and during his professional career, he was fortunate to attend California State University, San Bernardino, for his undergraduate degree in Education. During his undergraduate career, he witnessed how a lack of navigational capital can disqualify even the most brilliant black minds when it came to higher education.

The completion of his studies in Ed.D. for Educational Leadership at California State University, Fullerton have enhanced his skills as a leader and ability to be a change agent in this field of study congruently as a practitioner, researcher, lecturer, and educational consultant. He has a strong desire to rectify educational and corporate spaces where people have been disproportionately impacted by societal, systematic, historical, and organizational constraints. Furthermore, his educational background, work experiences, and passion to empower those who become changemakers themselves is unextinguishable
